Billy was rocked to the core. Of all the explanations he had considered for what had happened, an illness, a natural illness had not been one of them. When you could be destroyed at any moment by gigantic space monsters you tended to overlook the dangers that you were prone to as an ordinary member of the human race. He found his voice in face pale with shock.

"You're dying?!" Kimberly, so full of life and energy dying? It could not be true. Deny it enough and it will be a cruel practical joke he thought desperately. But as he looked at his friend again he could see the marks of this dreadful knowledge had left on her. It was true.Inside, King Lexian was standing at a table upon which lay a holographic map of the surrounding terrain. Other maps hung on the walls all around. Most of them glowed a brilliant blue, with other areas limned in yellow. Only a very few spots shone red, a color which the reporter assumed meant enemy territory. His lips curved in response. "I would hardly share things that weaken my side of the argument," he pointed out. "You have enough of an advantage already."

Relieved to see him so relaxed, she put her elbows on the counter and leaned across it conspiratorially. "You're right," she admitted. "I should have told you."

He echoed her posture, putting his face inches from hers. "You will remember that next time?"

She nodded, and Saryn smiled again. He kissed her once, then drew back to gaze into her eyes again. "I'm glad you're home," he said simply.

She smiled back. "Me too." Cocking her head, she added, "So what's for dinner?"

"Welcome, Power Rangers," Lexian bowed. "What is so urgent that you leave your planet to come to Edenoi?"
"Zordon has been arrested for violating some sort of non-interference law," Tommy replied bluntly. "People have been looking the other way for five years, but all of a sudden, they've decided to throw the book at him. We need your testimony to prove that he's still capable of fulfilling his duties."
Lexian sighed. "I would give almost anything to assist my old friend, but my first duty is to my people. We are winning this war, but it is not yet over. I cannot leave in the middle of this crisis."

"Yes..I am...I came back to say goodbye..but..." She began crying again and Billy held her his mind racing, too shocked to cry himself. It made sense a horrible sense, why agile Kimberley had fallen, why Skye sensed death on her, why she had been throwing Kat and Tommy together....Tommy...Oh my god!
