"She's..." Jason began trying to work out where to begin. Skye held up a hand, to forestall another rush. He had underestimated the intensity of their memories and regard for Kim.

"S'okay, I just got it all from you." replied the Star Crystal Ninjetti, rubbing his forehead and temples gingerly. One day, he thought, I am going to get the hang of this hunk of stone."Sorry to have to do this, kiddo," Winston Zeddemore apologized. "But we can't have you getting yourself killed." Jo struggled, but she was no match for the older man's strength. Realizing this, the girl interlaced her fingers, preparing to crack her knuckles and summon her super-strength. "I need a little help here!" Winston yelled, trying to keep Jo's hands apart. Instantly Dex was alongside him, taking Jo's other arm. The girl then began to thrash, obviously working herself into a frenzy.
          "Why me?" Peter sighed, punching a few buttons on the console. A strange device materialized in one hand. Crossing to Jo, he pressed the device to her arm.
          "What was that?" Dex asked, hearing a hiss. "Are you all right?" Carlos' voice sounded more puzzled than concerned, but it wasn't going away. He supposed he ought to lift his head off of his arms and reassure the Black Ranger, but it seemed like too much work. He was becoming very fond of this table and the orange shapes that played above it.

"Yes," he said, not moving. He heard the sound of footsteps, and the orange glow became a little darker. Carlos must be standing in his light. "I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" The concern was stronger this time, and he could practically feel the other Ranger hovering over him. "You don't look fine."

With a sigh, Zhane lifted his head and blinked up at the Black Ranger. The world was bright and sharp to his dark-adapted eyes, and the colors seemed to be slightly skewed. It was as though everything had become just a shade more blue while his eyes were closed, and now his vision was trying to compensate.

          "Hypospray," replied the psychologist. "Sedative. Jo's going to take a little nap now." Seeing the glare in the girl's rapidly closing eyes, he winced. "You'll thank me for this later, Jo- after you beat me to a bloody pulp."

"Well I didn't, some of us don't have your advantages!" Tanya said pointedly. "But I'm guessing that we are talking about Tommy's ex, yeah?.....before Kat."

"Exactly." Jason sighed. What a mess. It had been dropped right on him too, as he had told her in a letter recently that he had come back and that she should visit, so it was partly his own fault. But he'd been asking her that for ages so what had changed to make her decide now was a good time? And that didn't change the fundamental difficulty about this whole thing.
